December 27, 2019:  Captain Worm and crew went swordfishing out of Virginia Beach and came back with one that tipped the scales at 445 lbs!!!  (see photo below)  The former Virginia State Record sword was caught September 1, 2012 and weighed 446 lbs!! So Captain Drew's fish was one pound shy of the former VA State record -- not bad my friend!!  The current VA State Record was caught August 16, 2019 and weighed 466 lb. Great job!!

Starting December 1, 2019: the Big Worm will operate out of Fisherman's Wharf Marina (524 Winston Salem Ave., Virginia Beach, VA 23451, telephone 757-428-2111) for some wintertime fishing. Fisherman's Wharf Marina is located in Rudee Inlet, which is at the south end of Virginia Beach. We'll be offering inshore bottom fishing for Black Sea Bass, Flounder, Bluefish and Tautog for $1200 for the first 6 people ($200 each person over six).   Off-season oceanfront hotel room rates are very reasonable. Yes, it can be cold but the Big Worm's cabin is heated for your comfort -- just dress appropriately and bring something to eat and drink.   For your best selection of dates, give Captain Drew a call or a text real soon!
